There comes a time that we must all get real! What does that mean exactly?
Let me tweak your mind a bit and ask you something…who are you? Within just a few moments you will supply me with a myriad of answers. I am a mother, father, husband, wife, friend, partner, doctor, window washer, teacher, roofer, sister, brother, and a Yogi. I will apologize in advance and argue that you…your true self…is none of the answers listed above.  I understand your frustration believe me! We work very hard at putting our essence into little neatly labeled boxes. These aspects of ourselves are only titles or positions, they do not define us. Are you feeling confused yet? Well then let me propose another question, what is the part of you that is unchanging? We define who we are by our career, relationship, and social titles. Those titles are not your fixed reality, because they are always in a state of fluctuation. Our careers change along with our relationships. Our belief systems often adapt and change over time. You true authentic self has no label and is always constant. No life event or person can ever take that away from you. How do get real and find your authentic self? The first step is to stop distracting yourself from learning who you really are and what you need to find happiness. We spend a lot of time distracting ourselves and putting others needs and wants in front of our own. Take the time to get to know who you are and what you need. Get real with yourself by hanging out with yourself! Spend quiet time in nature where you can really tap into your true self. Yoga is a perfect way to tune into what is going on inside that amazing mind of yours!  Embrace your good thoughts as well as your challenging thoughts. Tell yourself that you are strong, smart, and beautiful every day because you are.
Wuf Shanti!
