Dear Wuf Shanti,

I have been feeling like no one really likes me and that I am not good enough. I try as much as I can to please my parents, teachers, and friends, but I am not sure if they really notice or even care. Is there anything that I can do to make people like me more? I am 13 years old by the way and it is not as fun as I thought to be a teenager.

Thanks Wuf…from Kylie

Dearest Kylie,

Thank you for reaching out to me and I can definitely offer you some advice on this. First of all, it is perfectly normal for you to feel the way that you do. You are a teenager now and a lot of things are changing in your life. Trust me when I say that most of your classmates and friends are going through the same thing right now. I am going to offer you a word and a mindfulness practice, maybe you can teach your friends and help them out too! The word is; acceptance. The practice is to accept yourself exactly as you are, and accept others exactly as they are. There is nothing that you need to change about yourself. You are good enough. There are people in your life that love you. Not everyone in the world will understand you, just as you will not understand everyone else either. We all need to simply accept ourselves as we are and accept others. No one is perfect, and everyone makes mistakes from time to time…grown ups too! Just try your best, always offer a helping hand,  tell yourself how special you are every day, and remember one of our mantras…think well to be well. Sending you love and light Kylie!
