Next up is Dave Smith from Mindful Schools, and this was a fun interview because this guy is for real. I like speaking with adults that treat teens as their equals. And plus, he made me laugh.

#Mindfulness saved my life…. Learning that I can pay attention to something other than what I’m thinking about, blew my mind. I learned that I could get out of my mind & the story going on in my mind.”

“#EmotionalIntelligence is being able to recognize the emotion that you’re feeling while you’re feeling it. Most people if they are angry, think about blaming someone. The key is to create a choice point. We get to choose what we do.”

“The mind wanders, get used to it…#mindfulness is not clearing your mind, it’s changing the relationship that we have with our mind. Our minds should be a friendly companion. Recognizing that our mind wanders is the whole game, & then you bring it back.”
