“May all beings be peaceful. May all beings be happy. May all beings be safe. May all beings awaken to the light of their true nature. May all beings be free” The Metta (peace Prayer)
In order for us to heal ourselves, each other, and this planet, we must come back to our heart.
Healing the Heart: A Meditation
Sit down in a chair with both of your feet on the ground with your ankles uncrossed.
Place your palms comfortably in your lap.
Feel your spine grow tall as you sit with your heart open and your shoulders relaxed.
Softly close your physical eyes and allow your internal eye to flutter open to begin the journey inward.
Take three deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Settle into a mindful yet easy breath that helps you to relax and let go.
Feel your physical body in the room and on the chair as you begin to relax any and all areas of tension. Letting go. Letting everything go.
Shift your awareness to your feet and feel them on the earth. Feel as though they are magnetically connected to the molten core of the center of the earth. Visualize tiny roots coming out of the souls of your feet connecting you to Mother Earth. Feel that support.
Now allow your attention to rise to the crown of your head. As you continue to relax your face and breath mindfully, visualize a white lotus floating above your head. Every breath allows a petal to unfurl and you see that from the center of this lotus flower, a violet light begins to shine through. See that light extend all the way up to the sky, to the dark blue layer of the atmosphere, to the stars. Feel that you are connected to that rise of energy. Know that you are supported always and never alone.
Place your palms one on top of the other over the center of your chest. Tune in to the gentle pressure, warmth, and feel the vibration of your heart beat. Visualize that you are giving your heart a healing and loving hug.
Repeat the following affirmations as though you are speaking to your loving heart;
I love you. I forgive you. I am letting go of the past. I am opening my heart. I am free.
Gently place the palms back into your lap and notice how you still feel their warmth on your chest.
Take three deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Flutter your eyes open and turn up the corners of your mouth into a smile.
