Meet Wuf Shanti
Hi Friends, My name is Wuf Shanti! Shanti means peace. I would like to welcome you to the world of mindful living. I bet your first question is “What is mindfulness?” It means different things to different people. For some, it is about cleaning the environment, and for some it is about anti-bullying. It is always about paying attention to the present moment, and living with kindness. There are lots of different techniques to help us live mindfully, including yoga, mediation, and positive thinking
Many of you may know what yoga is by seeing your friends or family doing yoga poses on a colorful mat. The physical practice of yoga is stretching, meditating, and breathing to calm the mind and promote flexibility. The other important aspects of Yoga are practiced off of the mat, and out in the real world. Practice off of the mat starts with having happy thoughts, thinking positive, looking on the bright side, and thinking well to be well
I also believe in spreading peace, taking care of our planet, being open-minded, grateful, and kind to everyone. I am so excited to take you on this journey with me and be your guide. Come along and join the fun! In love, laughter, and gratitude, Wuf Shanti
Hi, I’m Adam, and I created Wuf Shanti to teach mindfulness, social emotional learning, yoga, meditation, kindness, gratitude, and so much more to children. I believe that it’s really important to teach these life skills in schools at all levels K-12 so that we can grow up to be happier, peace-loving, content, empathetic adults
I’m certified in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction for Teens (MBSR-T), Kidding Around Yoga, the Emotion Code, and Rainbow Yoga, and youngest meditation instructor at Yoga International and Inner Explorer
For little kids, we have the Wuf Shanti character, games, videos, and app, and we travel to visit schools and hospitals
For the teens, we have a more serious curriculum without the character that also teaches important topics like diversity, inclusion, communication, compassion, self-awareness, self-regulation, resilience, positive psychology, interacting with others, collaboration, using our voice to make the world a better place, and more
I also created the Kids Association for Mindfulness in Education, the Partners for Peace interview series, and the Mindful Kids Peace Summit for middle and high schools. I’m also really honored because I was invited to give a TEDxYouth Talk when I was 14 about getting these wellness programs into schools to lower stress and stop violence. It was a great experience. I hope you check the Talk out
I’m really proud of all the work that Wuf Shanti does to help children stay physically fit, mentally less stressed, able to cope with emotions, & interact with kindness & compassion. It’s all about health and wellness and peace and positivity. Ps. I also like to hang out with my friends, play golf & basketball, watch Saturday Night Live, & go to concerts. I too, find it difficult to put my phone down & look up sometimes. Even I need to force myself to put it away for at least 5 minutes every day & just breathe.
