Amy L. Eva, Ph.D., is the Associate Education Director at The Greater Good Science Center at UC-Berkeley. As a 25-year educator and researcher, she studies mindfulness, adolescent mental health and development, and social-emotional learning. She is an educational psychologist, a former high school teacher, and a teacher educator.

My adventures as a peacekeeper have taken me all over the world working in the areas of environmental sustainability, youth empowerment and peace education.

It is my dream that every person around the world, no matter what their situation, has access to the skills to create peace in their own lives.

I teach people how to find peace through yoga and meditation and I coordinate the projects of the World Peace Flame Foundation in Australia that distributes peace education packs to schools.

Hazel worked in play development, community recreation and children’s events in the UK and freelanced as a TV and radio presenter. She then went into the holistic health field and became a holistic therapist, yoga teacher and college lecturer. She moved to South Africa in 1996 and worked as a corporate trainer, life coach and motivational speaker and worked in schools developing leadership skills with students in retreats. In 2017, she moved to Portugal and is currently doing her Masters in Mindfulness, with a focus on mindfulness in Education and training school teachers

PERSONAL: Raised and lived in New Jersey for over thirty eight years. Lori is a former Health and Physical Education teacher, K-12th grade. Was a stay at home mom for fourteen years of three children, daughter, Alyssa, was tragically killed at Stoneman Douglas High School on 2-14-18, married to Dr. Ilan Alhadeff for seventeen years, and a community & safety advocate.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: Graduated from The College of New Jersey with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education and a Master of Arts in Education from Gratz College.
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS: State of New Jersey certification in Health and Physical Education and State of New York certification in Health and Physical Education.
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND: Employed four years at Union Township School in Hampton, New Jersey. Where she coached volleyball, cheerleading and softball. Employed one year at Windward School as a Health and Physical Education teacher for children with dyslexia and language-based learning disabilities. She also coached cheerleading.
Elected to The School Board of Broward County, Florida in 2018 to serve as District 4 Board Member.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: Fundraising volunteer for the Parkland Soccer Club.
President of a 501(c)(3), a national non-profit organization “Make Our Schools Safe” dedicated to protecting students and teachers at school.

Dave Trachtenberg is a mindfulness and peace-circle facilitator who has dedicated his
life to creating communities of empathy, and inspiring others to discover their innate
strength, wisdom and kindness. In addition to his 20 years of experience in mind-body
practices, Dave is an outspoken champion for racial justice, gender equality, and LGBTQ
& immigrant rights. He believes that a mindfulness-circle’s ability to provide deep
listening, inquiry, and an accepting space for people to share their stories, is a vehicle
for racial healing on an individual and societal level.

Dave currently facilitates and coaches with his private practice Walk the Middle Way, is a
Board Member for the Institute of African American Mindfulness, founded Mind-Body
Basketball, and formerly served for five years as Program Director for Minds
Incorporated, which facilitated mindfulness to 18,000 youth, educators and parents in
Washington DC schools. He has trained with The Engaged Mindfulness Institute, MBSR,
Mindful Schools, The Academy of Guided Imagery, and two Tai-Chi teachers in the
Cheng Man-Ching lineage..
