De-stress for the Test Week
in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month 2021
This year for Mental Health Awareness Month, I’m asking everyone to get involved because I think the more we talk about it and continue the conversation, the faster we can end the stigma. The NFL Hall of Fame started their Behavioral Health Center to help players deal with mental health too, and I think that’s really important because so many kids look up to athletes as role models. Teens are going through year-end exams now too, and that can be stressful and overwhelming. Let’s help end the stigma together and participate in Mental Health Awareness Month together. Remember that by taking part in the conversation, you are letting someone know they are not alone. There is someone out there that you are helping.
Motivation Monday – Calm me down playlist – If we can focus on one aspect of a song, like the drums or guitar, then we can focus and calm ourselves. What music helps calm you down or keeps you motivated before you take a test? – We’ll share the playlist out for everyone to add songs – And post the QR code playlist in halls so people at school can have it. Share it with #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #MindfulnessinEducation #EndtheStigma #MotivationMonday #WufShanti
Self-Care Tuesday– Self-care water bottle Activity– Just like we drink water for our body, we also need to do healthy things for our minds. Create your own water bottle, fill it with the things that make you happy and help relieve stress, like hobbies, people, sports, etc. Then color it and share on your Instagram story. Use #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #SelfCare #EndtheStigma #SelfCareTuesday #WufShanti
Wellness Wednesday – Everyone feels anxious or sad sometimes, so today will be all about learning Health and Wellness techniques that will help us deal with stress on a daily basis. Be Thankful Thursday – Gratitude Messages – Studies show that expressing gratitude helps us to feel happier. Tell us who or what you are grateful for or 3 things that make you happy. Feel Good Friday – Peace Signs Messages – Kindness spreads. Color and write positive messages on your sign, and post them. Wear clothing that has positive messages on it. Messages can include peace for self, peace for others, or peace for the world. This helps cultivate self-compassion, compassion for others, and empathy.
