Day 1 of the MKPS re-release with new content. This time around, by request, in addition to our mindfulness and SEL content, we have added content about mental health, substance abuse, phone and gaming addiction, suicide prevention, and trafficking. I’m also happy to report that we’ve asked some other teen advocates to join us as well. And this is one of them!

Check out this interview with teen mental health author, Sophie Riegel. We spoke about anxiety and depression in teens, and how to best cope.

“One way to prevent mental health conditions is to get help before you need it. Everyone, no matter who you are, should be speaking to someone. You want to have a system in place when you are feeling good so you know what to do when you’re feeling bad.”

“Don’t try to make someone dealing with anxiety or depression feel something other than what they’re feeling, and be there with them in the moment. Say something like, “This must be really hard for you, tell me more about that.”

“Know that there are millions of kids like you that are dealing with the same thing, so you aren’t alone even when it may feel like you are.”
