Happy 2023 everyone! I don’t really have anything super insightful to say, but it’s the New Year, so I wanted to write something. I’m home for the college break, and it’s nice to be in warm weather for a minute and see my family and friends. Hopefully, you are having a nice New Year as well.

What’s good to remember, during the new year, I think, when everyone is talking about resolutions, is that it’s completely ok to set intentions, but it’s more important to be present in each moment. For example, you may want to exercise every day, but if you have a chance to be with a friend you haven’t seen in a while, and that means you can’t exercise that day, go see the friend and reconnect. And try to be fully present… and put down the phone while you’re with them… MY New Year’s intention!. 🙂

If you’re too tired and just want to relax on the couch, it’s ok to give yourself a break.  Even if you don’t exercise every day like you wanted to, you don’t have to feel guilty, so let go of self-judgment, and know that each moment is an opportunity to begin again.

2023 has some neat things in store:

My first book for teens comes out this June, and that’s exciting. I’m a little nervous to see what people think, but hopefully it will help someone out there.

My sister is creating new characters that will focus on diversity/inclusion, and that’s cool for her (and for me, because I was her age when I started Wuf Shanti, so it will be interesting and fun to see what she does with it now).

I’m majoring in Digital Broadcasting and Journalism but I am going back and forth as to whether to minor in Mindfulness or the broader minor of Psychology, and will have to make a decision soon.

I am honored to have been selected as the Citrus TV Beat Reporter for the Syracuse University Women’s Lacrosse Team…. currently spending my break learning as much about Women’s Lacrosse as I can.

Sending positive thoughts to you for a Healthy Happy New Year!
